Mitrata Nepal in association with Jacomina Kistemaker (Spain) held the first ever Mitrata benefit concert to raise the fund for the children of Mitrata Nepal. The event was successfully organized by Mitrata Nepal Treasurer Mangal Man Maharjan at Bajra Hotel, Kathmandu.
The benefit concert featured performances by our talented Mitrata Children who wowed the audience with their breathtaking orchestra. The act opened with the children performing famous Nepalese song “Resham Firiri” using Madal (Traditional Nepalese drum), Sarangi (Traditional Nepalese String) and Murali (Bamboo flute).
Jacomina gave a tranquil performance emanating from Nepalese singing bowls, gongs and her serene voice. The beautiful and harmonious sound transcendent the crowd into a deep meditative state. The hall was so peaceful and quiet that one could literally hear the sound of oneself breathing.
The concert lasted for two and half hours and everyone felt revived with this beautiful experience. After the program ended, it was a time for good Nepalese “Chiya” (tea) and snacks on the roof top overlooking the spectacular Kathmandu Valley. Everyone chatted with each other and had photo sessions with Jacomina and the children. Finally everyone left enjoying the fun evening and a good hangover of the music.
